The journey begins with an introduction to future research and an exploration of mega-trends, laying the foundation for understanding global challenges. Participants will engage in activities designed to enhance future skills and foster creativity, essential for addressing the uncertainties of tomorrow.

Throughout the week, participants will have the opportunity to visit Porkkala Upper Secondary School, a specialized institution focused on learning for the future, providing valuable insights into innovative educational practices. Additionally, a dedicated day is devoted to honing conversational and negotiation skills, essential for fostering peace and common understanding.

A highlight of the course is the “Hacking for School” session, where participants collaborate closely with experts to broaden their understanding of problems and devise actionable solutions. Participants will have the opportunity to present their own puzzles for problem-solving, fostering a collaborative and hands-on learning environment.

Targeted at school management, teachers, special education professionals, and all stakeholders in education, this course covers a wide range of topics essential for introducing future-oriented education in schools. From exploring future sciences to developing innovative didactical approaches, participants will acquire practical skills to advance educational processes and strengthen belief in a positive future.

Melina Rauhala

Ms. Rauhala (B.A.) is an educational sciences student at the University of Turku with studies also in the fields of psychology, business and HR, and sociology. As an education major, she is passionate about lifelong learning and the Finnish education system. She believes in change through education. In addition, Ms. Rauhala loves to learn new languages.  She completed an Erasmus + university exchange in Spain as a part of her studies and wants to work toward everyone getting international learning opportunities. Ms. Rauhala is working for VisitEDUfinn part-time while finishing her studies.
