Service Overview
“Teach in a Finnish School” enhances the Teacher Job Shadowing experience by offering a unique blend of observation, collaboration, and teaching. It draws on key components of the original online version, emphasizing practical engagement, pedagogical innovation, and the fostering of self-regulating, collaborative learning environments. Participants will leave with a richer, practical understanding of Finnish educational excellence, ready to apply these insights within their own classrooms. Teach in a Finnish School includes:
Day 1: Observation and Initial Reflection
Begin your immersive experience with a comprehensive observation of the Finnish educational landscape, spending the day within the walls of a Finnish classroom. Here, you’ll witness firsthand the dynamic interaction between teachers and students, the implementation of innovative learning strategies, and the nurturing of an encouraging learning environment. This day is not just about observation but also about understanding the foundational principles that make the Finnish education system unique.
As the day transitions to its conclusion, you’ll engage in a thoughtful reflective meeting with a Finnish teacher. This session is designed to be a dialogue, an exchange of ideas where you can delve into your observations, ask questions, and discuss the nuances of what you’ve witnessed. It’s an opportunity to align your teaching philosophies with the insights gained, setting a solid foundation for your upcoming teaching experience. This initial reflection is crucial in preparing you for the next steps, ensuring you have a profound understanding of the context in which you will be teaching.
Day 2: Independent Planning and Preliminary Feedback
Develop your lesson plan by showcasing your most effective teaching strategies and techniques, aligning them with the core concepts and principles of Finnish education. After finalizing your plan, a Finnish teacher will provide feedback, focusing on how well your methods integrate with the Finnish educational ethos. This stage offers you the freedom to express your pedagogical creativity, supported by insights from Finnish teaching experts to fine-tune your approach.
Day 3: Teaching and Reflective Feedback
The highlight of your journey: showcasing your teaching skills in a Finnish classroom. Embrace this opportunity to present your best practices and unique teaching flair, considering the Finnish educational framework. The session culminates with reflective feedback, focusing on the effectiveness and adaptability of your techniques within the context of Finnish education. This feedback aims to enrich your teaching repertoire, offering perspectives on blending your expertise with Finnish educational values.
Successful participants will receive a unique certificate, acknowledging their direct teaching experience in a Finnish school. Priced at 490€ per person, this program offers a rare opportunity to practically engage with and learn from one of the world’s most acclaimed education systems, culminating in a significant credential that underscores your commitment to educational excellence and innovation.
