LIFE2022 SHADOWING EXPERIENCE
Lapland International Forum for Education™

LIFE2022 SHADOWING EXPERIENCE – LEARNING AND TEACHING TOGETHER is a new way to dive deeper into the renowned Finnish education system while enjoying the unparalleled beauty of Lapland. This program offers the chance to shadow Finnish teachers and understand the daily operations of Finnish schools, all while enjoying adventures above the Arctic Circle with a good chance of seeing the Northern Lights.

You can start the journey by listening to the top Finnish education experts in Educa, the largest event for Finland’s education and training sector. In 2020, more than 700 education professionals worldwide attended Educa in Helsinki, in addition to the nearly 20000 Finnish participants.

IMPORTANT UPDATE December 16, 2021:

LIFE2022 is sold out now, but you can join our waiting list by writing ASAP to info@visitedufinn.com, as there are always some unpaid invoices and we will most likely have soon some seats available again.

IMPORTANT UPDATE December 27, 2021:

Educa is rescheduled for 2023 but the rest of the LIFE2022 program takes place in Rovaniemi.

IMPORTANT UPDATE January 25, 2021:

“Traditional” school visits cannot be organized during LIFE2022. The updated program includes alternative ways to visit the schools and observe Finnish teachers.

This unique training program – chosen in 2019 as one of the winners in the Authentic Finnish Educational Travel Product contest – offers an exclusive opportunity to visit Finnish kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, and the University of Lapland‘s Teacher Training School. In addition to school visits, lectures, and workshops, you can participate in social programs, such as the city of Rovaniemi reception and farewell dinner. This fifth Lapland International Forum for Education™ is organized in collaboration with the University of Turku, Visit Rovaniemi, and Euneos, a company with years of experience providing Erasmus+ courses in the EU.

The essential part of LIFE2022 takes place right near the Arctic Circle in the city of Rovaniemi, also known as the official hometown of Santa Claus. During the event, you have an opportunity to meet him in person and participate in many other exciting and unique winter adventures. The main venue is Scandic Pohjanhovi, and you can stay the last night of the event in a Showhotel or Glass igloo watching the Northern Lights.

The theme ‘learning and teaching together’ reflects the culture of learning promoted by the newest Finnish national curriculum. During the event, you will learn concrete examples of how to work as co-teachers, group the students to work together, and structure students’ collaboration. In LIFE2022, we will also establish our own culture of learning together and thus experience what it means in practice. Special attention will be given to safety precautions due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Finland.

If you took part in the previous LIFE2020, LIFE2019, LIFE2018, or LIFE2017 events, we warmly welcome you to join us again. Based on your feedback, we have added more days, more interaction with other participants, and made other changes so that the overall experience will be even better than the last four years.

There is space for only 80 participants, so book now to secure your spot!

"This visit is part of our efforts to learn from the best in the world when it comes to education"

"So grateful the conference was so well planned and organized. Would highly recommend to others."

Below are some authentic pictures of Northern Lights taken by LIFE2020 participants.

Dawson science teacher Ms. D cannot wait to teach her students all about the Northern Lights! Ms. D, along with Ms. Musgrave, Ms. McNamara and Ms. Jacobsen, spent the week at Visitedufinn Ltd. LIFE2020 Conference and had the unique opportunity to learn from the famous Finnish education. They got to see how everyday life works in Finnish schools, visit with local teachers and students, and listen to the top Finnish education experts. Dawson is a true learning community and professional development is a big priority for faculty and staff. We cannot wait to learn more from our Finland Four! #DawsonDifference
